For 2016, and after watching a video going through the current and future capabilities of 3D printing, I decided it was about time I got my hands on it.
I first decided I would buy my own 3D printer. I found the model I wanted, but I decided that before buying, I should go through one important first step: learning how to 3D model.
Of all the options available, I went for Blender, that is both powerful enough and free.
Went through a all course that allowed me to understand the process of modelling a 3D object.
My first 3D print was delivered in Amsterdam at FITC, a paint spray for my friend Sara customised with a big ‘F’ for FLAI.
Few days after, I picked up in Madrid my second job, a replica of the famous LoVE type-sculpture from New York.
The great thing about it is that it serves very well as a stamp with ink. Which opens a path for future 3D jobs.
Last saturday 27.02.2016, I went to UTOPIC_US for a maker´s market, and actually end up in a beginners class of 3D printing, where I got some interesting info and knowledge about the processes.
To be continued…
